Daniel is a phenomenally complicated book, and asking to sum up any book in the Bible is tricky business. But Daniel does have this going for it: a thread runs throughout the entire book that helps us understand it. You aren't where you're supposed to be. The challenge of Daniel is ultimately to live like a citizen of another Kingdom. Preached at Trinity, Grenfell on February 2nd

You don't need much evidence to see that we live in a dark world. All around us, the innocent suffer and evil seems to win way too often. But Paul provides us with a vaccine against what he calls the darkness of this present age. "Put on the full armour of God so that you can stand." Preached on January 19th 2014 at Trinity, Grenfell

This was one of Trinity's most asked questions, and it was approached in a lot of different ways. All of it though stems from this central truth: the church isn't a place. It is a people. A people called out for a purpose. Everything we know and feel about the church stems from this vital church. I am the Church; You are the Church; We are the Church together.

We've been building something together. For the last three weeks we've heard Jesus help us assemble a skeleton. Now we're going to start putting some meat on the bones. If the Lord's Prayer is the answer to how should we pray, these three examples from the life of Jesus answer the question: when should we pray? Preached at Trinity, Grenfell on October 20th

The Doxology that gets tacked onto the Lord's Prayer isn't Scripture, but it is ancient. Praying "Thine be..." is a powerful declaration about how we believe the world ought to be, and what we plan on doing about it. Preached at Trinity, Grenfell on 13 October, 2013

We tend to think about Prayer as something that I bring to God, but in this second part of our look at the Lord's Prayer, we see that's not really the case at all. In fact, the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples is, overwhelmingly, a community prayer. So, what does it mean to pray "Give US OUR daily bread"; "Forgive US OUR debts as WE forgive OUR debtors"; and "Lead US not into temptation, but deliver US from Evil"?

Calling it the Lord's Prayer is like calling the Timbit Tim Horton's legacy. The prayer that Jesus taught his disciples isn't about a ritual recitation: it's about a careful and thoughtful examination of how we approach God. In the first part of three three-week mini series', we look at the opening section of the "Our Father" and see the balance and the challenge in praying the way Jesus taught us. Based on Matthew 6:9, this message was preached at Trinity, Grenfell on 29 September, 2013

Based on Acts 8:24-40. Fresh off his latest failure with Simon the Magician, Philip is settling into a life of anonymity in Samaria. He's never going to be a Peter or a Stephen. But the irony of discipleship is that it's in that moment that God shows up. And without warning, without explanation, the Spirit calls Philip into mission. It's when we let God work, that we find ourselves where God can best use us. This was preached at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Grenfell,SK on September 15th, 2013

Based on Acts 8:1-24, Philip is a story I've always been drawn to. He's relatable in a way that Peter and Paul never seemed to be. They were larger than life; Philip seemed real. Over the course of this series we've seen Philip try and be the star he wants to be, but he never quite makes it. At least not yet anyway. But that's the point of discipleship. Philip never seems to arrive and so he is constantly learning from his mistakes and pushing onwards and upwards to do better. More than anything else, Philip's Characteristic Preaching exemplifies his commitment to a life of discipleship.
